Its getting harder to blog nowadays. I was too tired over the last few days to blog late in the night even though they were rather eventful.
The Netto Affair
Nic lost his temper over soccer and I think he's having a really bad time. His grandpa passed away last week and I think its hit him hard. But I think the biggest issue is this faith and hypocrisy of the people in CSS issue that has been building up over the year. He exclaimed that among all of us, he only had two people that were truly friends.
The 8 Hour Lunch
Father Jean-Paul invited me for lunch at Jurong West to be guinea pigs for his paper baked seafood pasta. We went there at 12.30. Have to say it came out really well! The first dish was cream of celery soup, from the can, but nice. The pasta had clams, crab, prawns and squid in tomato with garlic and chili padi! (just enough the give the whole dish a spicy twang). I loved it. We also had pork chops marinated in worchester sauce and lemon, battered in flour, rosemary, pepper and salt, and grilled in extra virgin olive oil. We ate it together with a salad of roquet leaves with a balsamic vinegar and lemon dressing. The bitter leaves, sour lemon really hightened the flavour of the whole dish. Excellente!
We took out time with the dishes, chatted away, watched The Life of Brian, and I finally left at 830pm. The last was still there at 930. Well, its the first time I've ever had such and experience, and I did enjoy and learn from the experience, not least about cooking and how to host comfortable gatherings!
Verena (finally)...
Met Verena for lunch and we went through many issues including Dictator Nic, the CGLs and Loretta. It's rather too much to list what we went through, but they were all really important to me. I think explaining to her my hangups about Nic were very therapeutic, and clarifying for me. It was really good talking to her, as Marianne, and trying to figure out our concerns about the cgs. I guess I also cleared up some of my hangups about her.
Cell Group...
Had a cg gathering at Jeanette's place. Was a nice little affair with Pearl cooking chicken claypot rice for dinner. Well, it struck me that our cg will probably never really get along as a group. There is no one to bind the group together and everyone is just too disparate to 'bond'. There were at least two seperate conversations going on at any one time. I guess I can only let out a sigh and say 'thy will be done'.
