Yesterday was a worrying time for me.
The night before when I came home I saw that Anne-anne my cocker spaniel was hiding in the garden and not willing to come out. She had never done that before. Also I noticed that her eye was especially red and and some flesh popping out. In the morning, her condition seemed the same and she did not even seem able to stand.
We brought her to a vet in the afternoon and it turned out that she had an infection in her mouth and her eyelid was infected and swollen as well. The lump on her back also turned out to be a hernia.
After an injection of anti-biotics and painkiller, she's thankfully better today.
I was so worried that she might have been dying or something. She is old, but still strong, and I do love her. Confronting mortality, even a dog's, is no easy task!

i know it was very difficult when you were there with anne but i'm really happy for your sake that she's ok now. Death is never easy, but i'm sure that you're glad that you have some more time to spend with her now. it's a cliched thing to say but Life is truly so much more precious when we're faced with death so spend lots of great times with her so that you won't regret anything when her time comes to pass...
Yup. I try to treasure every moment with the ones I love.
