A lesson I’ve learnt from this is that it’s never too late to say, I love you or I’m sorry; life is really too short, and all too often, most of us take it for granted, distracted as we are by work and family. I guess, I’ve been thinking very much of Dad and remembering, even listing all those wonderful memories and the funnies in our lives. There’s much to be so thankful for, so much to celebrate, even more than the pain. If you look into your own lives, your relationships with family and friends – even those who’ve hurt us – there’s much to say, thanks for. Wouldn’t you agree?

And that’s why the time ahead for all of us at home is, I’m happy to say, filled with much hope, brightness and faith. Carl returns for Christmas and Dad’s birthday next month; the extended family is making time to be with Dad and our family; I get a chance to talk with Dad more frequently. All of these, God’s blessings!

May I humbly ask for your prayers for Dad and my family at this time?

A close friend's Dad has got cancer.
This is from a letter describing his experience over the past months. I used to not appreciate anyone or even my own life. If they or I went, so what. Now, if I went, or someone I loved had to go, I can't imagine the pain that would exist; I'd almost rather not love than go through that. But I do love, and am trying to love more. Perhaps this is another slant on the 'better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all' line.
