Enjoy.
I had heard wisperings that the ODACers were 'crazy' and 'super-on', and I must say that these rumours are true. We met at Marsiling MRT on Sunday evening, where some members came right after an inter-college stair-climbing competition (in which they won 1st, 2nd, 3rd). I then discovered that it was 'tradition' to walk across the causeway.. from Marsiling MRT...
So, with our backpacks, we walked to the checkpoint, and I took my first walk across the causeway, and we then took a train (which was late) from the Johor train station to Negri Sembilan (I think). This picture shows Mr Isaac Lim, the teacher in charge, and his 7 year old Primary 1 daughter, Angel. She was following us to experience climbing and camping - quite incredible. It was about 4 am when we arrived.
When there, we slept a few hours and caught the first public bus, which dropped us off near Mount Ophir, the mountain in the background. You can just make out the telecom building near the summit. Doesn't look so bad; so I thought. We walked to the base of the mountain, had breakfast of prata and teh tarik, and began to climb...
