A stargazing trip to Desaru

Hi! Got back from a trip to Batu Layar beach in Desaru some weekend so I've decided to share this wonderful trip here. Just the photos first, but a writeup will follow. :)

A total of 48 people went, the biggest expedition yet!

We took a ferry from Changi to Johor and then a cab. The sky was blue when we got there!

Our campsite. Half the people were from Nanyang Poly

The beach is quite nice! Can just come for a nice swim..

Introducing my telescope! The collapsible newtonian on a dob tripod!

Here, Liu Ming is conversing with Dr Phil Chan and the other NYP lecturers

As the sun set, the sky was still clear, but the moment the sun set, clouds rolled in!

But the skies cleared...

and it was glorius!! I'm not done with the processing on this picture.. hopefully it will be better when I'm done. It shows the centre of our galaxy, the buldge of our Milky Way..

I stayed up all night..

and was greeted with a beautiful sunrise.

Till next time!
