One of the things you'd love there is the steamboat. Super yummy for something like $8 per person. Delicious on a cold night.

We spent our mornings at this most delightful cafe called T's cafe. The scones are delicious beyond description.

Tea Hills
Driving up to Gunong Brinchang, you'll pass by the tea plantations that I still remember from my youth.

Cloud forest
At the top of Mt Brinchang, there's a super cool new boardwalk that brings you into the mossy forest. A magical place.

Raju's strawberries
Raju, the owner of this strawberry farm not only obliged my request to take his strawberries, he pulled out his choicest from the back and posed for me (plus offered us one - sweet juicy yum).

Butterfly park

Wild orchid
We signed up for a hiking tour to see the Rafflesia flower. A 30 min drive on a landrover through mud tracks before an hour's hike in to see the flower. Wild orchids can be seen growing around the highlands.

Rafflesia
And here it is. They bloom only for 3-5 days, and are considered very rare. This one was already wilting because of the rains.

Lakehouse
To cap off our trip, we splurged to stay in the wonderful old tudor style Lakehouse.

Cameron Highlands looks good! I haven't been there since I was.. 5?!? I'm surprised Loretta was happily smiling by the Rafflesia, isn't it supposed to smell terribly rancid? (And I've often wondered abt that condo in SGP called The Rafflesia too..). Your take on Cloud Forest makes it look really mystical!
