Rootless Teaching

sob sob. My confidence is at quite an all time low.

First I get attacked for speaking out in the Catholic News.

My students tell me that my favourite books that I lent them are boring.

They seem so uncomfortable when I talk to them. I can't 'click' with my home class.

Was at my wits end thinking about how to conduct the lessons for this week; how to make the class interesting.

They don't seem interested in "thinking". It just plays into the whole hangup I have about people reacting negatively to me "philosophising".

In the midst of it, at my most miserable, I felt that I had no roots. No place or family to really call home. No community that I truly belong and feel safe. No friends. No support.

It's nice to be able to have roots. Do appreciate it.
