What things would you like to have in your futuristic home?

A friend posed me this question: “Let you imagination run wild. What things would you like to have in your futuristic home?”

Well… interesting question…

I would want…
  1. A library that fills a whole wall made of dark wood and stocked with classics from all over the world. In the middle will be a console that can access electronically every single book on the planet. I can then upload whatever book I want into a special tome in the middle which looks and feels like a real book, but whose pages can display electronically any text or picture whatsoever.
  2. An indoor pool with Jacuzzi.
  3. A rooftop observatory! A large rotating dome with wood panelling which is large enough to be my personal study. It would be spartan, with shelves, a desk, a workstation and comfy chairs. A large telescope will be the centrepiece.
  4. A snooker table that coverts into a table, or lowers into a bed, or raises and becomes an interesting ceiling fixture – maybe a chandelier or an art piece.
  5. I want my walls and furniture to be coloured with a special paint that can change colour. Every once in a while, I can change the colours of the rooms and sofas to suit the mood or the season.
  6. If a wall can change colours, why not it display wallpaper designs? Or a whole picture? Maybe a whole wall can show a painting, and then become a TV or a theatre screen when I want.
  7. I would want a smart fridge that is connected to the internet. It will auto-order any groceries that are running out, and can retrieve recipes that I want automatically. It will also allow me to order food that can be home delivered.
  8. Video phones around the house so that I can communicate face to face with friends.
  9. Finally, a TV that can display 3D images. Imagine watching sports on it! It should also have video-on-demand. No more advertisements, flipping channels to see what’s on, or recording shows that you can’t catch. Watch what you want when you want!

actually that smart fridge thing might become a reality if they really concentrate on RFID.
the plan is to allow for all your groceries to have the RFID tag that will alert whatever systems u have in place that the food is expiring, or the quantity is low, and then alert yr database, which will hopefully, make a purchase for you. kinda like borders :P
so yes, christopher, your dreams could come truuuue!! *waves fingers around ala hocus pocus gestures*
